At Burnaby Montessori School, we offer Montessori programs designed to support children through their early years of development and education.
Our programs provide children with a consistent, nurturing environment where they can develop independence, confidence, social skills, and strong academic foundations while learning through the Montessori philosophy.
All classes at BMS run Monday through Friday.
A GENTLE BEGINNING TO THE MONTESSORI EXPERIENCE
Our Junior Montessori program provides young children with an opportunity to begin their school experience in a warm, nurturing, and carefully prepared Montessori environment.
Children are introduced to Montessori learning through hands-on activities that encourage independence, concentration, coordination, language development, social skills, and confidence.
Teachers guide children as they become familiar with classroom routines, learn to care for their environment, interact with their classmates, and begin developing independence in their daily activities.

A RICHER, FULL-DAY MONTESSORI EXPERIENCE
Our Full-Day Montessori program gives children the opportunity to spend a full day immersed in the Montessori environment.
With additional time for uninterrupted work and exploration, children can develop greater concentration, independence, and confidence while building strong foundations across the Montessori curriculum.
The day includes opportunities for individual and small-group learning, practical life activities, language, mathematics, sensorial exploration, cultural studies, art, music, movement, and physical activities.
Children are encouraged to work at their own pace while teachers observe their development and provide thoughtful guidance and individualized support.

BUILDING ON A STRONG MONTESSORI FOUNDATION
Our Kindergarten program provides children with an opportunity to continue developing academically, socially, and emotionally within a Montessori environment.
As children grow, they are encouraged to take greater responsibility for their learning and daily routines. They continue to develop their literacy and mathematical skills while strengthening their ability to concentrate, solve problems, communicate, collaborate, and work independently.
Our goal is to help children become confident learners who are ready to take on new challenges and continue successfully into the next stage of their education.

CONTINUING THE MONTESSORI JOURNEY
Grade 1 is an important step in a child’s educational journey.
Building on the foundations developed during the early years, children continue to strengthen their academic skills while developing greater independence, responsibility, and confidence as learners.
Through the Montessori approach, children are encouraged to think critically, solve problems, ask questions, and take increasing ownership of their work.
Our Grade 1 environment supports children as they develop stronger skills in language, reading and writing, mathematics, science, cultural studies, creative expression, physical activity, and social development.
Alongside academics, we continue to nurture the qualities that help children become successful learners: curiosity, concentration, perseverance, independence, responsibility, and respect for others.

MONTESSORI LEARNING WITH A SUMMER SPIRIT
Burnaby Montessori School offers Summer Camp during July and August.
Our Summer Camp combines the Montessori learning environment children know and enjoy with a variety of outdoor activities, group activities, arts, and crafts.
For children who are new to BMS, Summer Camp provides an opportunity to become familiar with the school environment before the new school year begins. New students receive introductory Montessori lessons and are guided through classroom routines and expectations.
Summer Camp is available to:
We highly recommend Summer Camp for new children starting in September, as it gives them an opportunity to become comfortable with the classroom environment, teachers, routines, and other children before the school year begins.
LIMITED AVAILABILITY
Placement is determined on a first-come, first-served basis, so families interested in Summer Camp are encouraged to register early.
Whether your child is taking their first steps into a Montessori classroom or continuing their educational journey through Grade 1, our programs provide a consistent environment where children can grow in confidence, independence, and their love of learning.
